German Slaw

Great with any kind of pork!

 

1 large cabbage
1 large onion
1 cup plus 1 tbsp sugar
1 cup vinegar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp salt
1 teas celery seed
1 teas dry mustard

 

Shred cabbage and finely chop onion; add 1 cup of sugar and toss. In a saucepan, combine the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Let cool slightly and pour over the cabbage mixture. Cover and refrigerate over night. Nice for the BBQ!

Creamy Lemon Noodles

Try this dish next time you have chicken for din-din!

 

1 pkg (12 oz) medium width egg noodles
16 oz. whipping cream
Zest of 1 lemon
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
Fresh ground sea salt & pepper to taste

 

Cook noodles according to package directions and drain. In a large skillet, heat the cream over medium heat but do not boil; add the lemon and cheese and stir well. Add the noodles, salt and pepper; stir to coat and heat until noodles are hot. Sometimes if I have some left-over carrots or green beans, I dice them up and add to the noodles…… Enjoy!
