I hope everyone has a great weekend! God bless our troops and give thanks for our freedom that so many have given their lives to keep us safe and who gave us the ability to live the way we do. Don’t forget to drink responsibly, eat until your stuffed and just plain enjoy a nice long weekend. As for Kenny and I, we’ll be doing all of that and we are out of here until Tuesday……..Enjoy!

Ice Tea Fruit Punch

For the hot weather usually associated on Labor Day, you’ll need some refreshments to go with that BBQ. This recipe is kid friendly, tasty and thirst quenching too!

Ice Tea Fruit Punch

Ingredients
  • 16 small tea bags
  • 2 quarts boiling water
  • 2 cups lemon juice
  • 4 cups orange juice
  • 6 cups grape juice
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 8 cups cold water
  • 32 oz ginger ale
Instructions
  1. Add tea bags to boiling water and steep for 3-5 minutes; remove tea bags.
  2. Let tea cool and add the next 5 ingredients, refrigerate until serving time.
  3. When ready to serve, add the ginger ale and have lots of ice cubes on hand.

This punch is best if using fresh lemon and orange juice, it just takes a little more time!

For me, I’d like to add a little vodka but husband won’t let me drink it any more! A story for another time, maybe I’ll slip in some gin instead…………Enjoy your Labor Day cookout!
