Grilled Bratwurst And Beer

Another reason to have a beer or two!

1 lb fresh bratwurst
1 can (12 oz) beer
1 medium onion, sliced
10 whole black peppercorns

In a large heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients. Place on the side burner of your gas grill or if you don’t have one, on top of your stove; heat to almost boiling, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove bratwurst and continue to simmer until onions are tender. Cook bratwurst over medium heat on your gas grill, or if using charcoal, 4-6 inches from medium-high coals. Cook 6-10 minutes or until nicely browned, turning once or twice during the cooking time. Drain onions and serve atop the bratwurst. Enjoy the rest of the brewskies while enjoying the bratwurst!
