Spicy Tempura Batter
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ teas baking powder
  • ¼ teas baking soda
  • ½ teas cajun seasoned salt
  • ¼ teas pepper
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup water
  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well.
  2. Dip your choice of fish, cut into 2-inch pieces, large shrimp or veggies cut into 2-inch pieces into the batter and deep-fry in oil that has been heated to 375 degrees
  3. Cook until golden brown and the pieces float to the top.
  4. Drain on paper towels and dig in with your favorite sauce.
