Bourbon Steak Marinade
I guess I thought of this recipe because we just did a toast with a shot of whiskey to seeing sunshine for the first time in days. Of course this is just a small reprieve considering they’re expecting Isaac to come barreling up through Florida and truthfully we’re not even sure if we will stay here at home if it gets too bad, trailers and tornadoes just don’t go together! Another fear, is that the private road we live on has washed out 2 times over the course of many years and with all the rain we’ve had since the end of June it’s a little spooky.
But enough of that let’s make some homemade steak marinade since next week we might be cooking on the barbie a lot if we loose power in the storm………..
- 2 cups soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 oz bourbon whiskey
- 1 teas pepper
- 2 tbsp dry mustard
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp garlic salt
- 1 teas hot sauce
- Combine all ingredients in a jar with a tight fitting lid and shake well to dissolve dry ingredients.
- To marinate the steak, place meat in a shallow dish and marinate for at least 3 hours.
- Baste steak with the extra sauce while grilling.
