Grilled Corn With Peanut Butter

Never heard of this one and not too sure I’m going to try it as I like my corn dripping with real butter! Although the bacon part sounds pretty good……..

Grilled Corn With Peanut Butter

Ingredients
  • Fresh corn on the cob
  • Peanut butter
  • Bacon
Instructions
  1. Husk corn and remove all their little hairs (don't want them in your teeth!).
  2. Lightly spread peanut butter over each ear.
  3. Wrap bacon slice around the corn and fastened with a toothpick.
  4. Grill over hot coals for 10 minutes or until corn is tender, turning frequently.

If you’re game enough to try this, let me know how it tastes, you can be my guinea¬† pig!

  1. Chris, thanks for your input and you can’t get enough bacon! We’ll have to try it as corn is still in our stores here! Sounds like a wonderful addition to our corn on the grill! Thanks again, Regina

  2. This was an interesting meal. The recipe doesn’t mention how much bacon to use so we got three slices on each ear of corn. I cooked the ears on my gas grill by heating the grill real hot then dropping the flame and cooking these covered periodically opening the grill from time to time to make sure the bacon grease wasn’t creating too high a flame which will chat the corn black before the bacon fully cooks. Because of this cooking method they took longer than 10 minutes, close to 20 since we like our bacon crispy.

I thought the flavor was unique and it was good. I could taste the sweetness of the corn mixed well with the bacon and this was the main part of our meal. I felt like it could use some maple syrup so next time I’ll use maple bacon.
    Enjoy!!

  3. Thanks Marie for the comment! Didn’t realize where the recipe originated from and was still skeptical about it, but now after your comment, I will for sure try it,, thanks again. Regina

  4. I first tried this recipe back years ago. It was a recipe from a bar-b-que state champion -Iowa I think! Was very skeptical. Could not believe he just tossed the ears on the coals. The peanut butter melts, the bacon adds favor and gets pretty crispy. Turns out it was fantastic. Am going to make it this Memorial Day weekend. .
