Marinated Green Bean Salad

This is an old Hungarian recipe called “Zoldbab Salata Hagymaval”. It’s quite basic, just something I never thought of doin and it’s perfect for the heat of the summer time!

1 box (10 oz) frozen French-style green beans
1/2 cup vinegar
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp sugar
1 teas salt
1/2 teas freshly ground pepper
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 tbsp finely chopped onions

Cook beans according to package directions and drain thoroughly. Place in a bowl and set aside. Combine the next 5 ingredients and pour over the beans. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour, mixing mixture occasionally. Just before serving, mix in the bacon and onion. As I have had an abundance of fresh green beans stashed in my freezer, this will be one we will enjoy! Maybe add some feta cheese to the mix…

  1. Hi Ashley! That sounds like a big party, wow….. Most of the time I use just regular white vinegar unless I specify something different. Let me know how it turns out, good luck…….Regina

  2. Hi what kind of vinegar? Balsamic? Looking to make for 45 people
