Creamy Bacon And Onion Soup
I know it’s hot in a lot of places, here included, but I can always eat onion soup, especially homemade with bacon!
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
4 cups coarsely chopped yellow onions
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teas salt
3 cups thin white sauce
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Melt the butter in a large Dutch oven and add the onions; cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or until onions are tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in the white sauce, milk, bacon and seasonings. Heat throughly and serve topped with homemade croutons or more BACON crumbles. Enjoy!
