Corn Husk Bread

An old Indian recipe to share with you! Use your corn husks from the corn you cook this weekend and try these. The recipes is a little obscure and I have not tried it yet, so you’ll have to wing it like I will when I test them out……….

 

Inner husks from 1 dozen ears of corn
2 cups yellow cornmeal
1/2 teas salt
1 teas baking powder
1-1/2 cups boiling water

 

Remove all silk from the corn husks and place in a pan of cold water for a few minutes; drain. Mix dry ingredients and slowly add the boiling water; mix thoroughly. Roll meal mixture into finger-shaped pieces and wrap in the husks; tie with kitchen string. Drop husks into a large pot of boiling water and boil for 10 minutes. Serve hot………..
