Easy Beanless Chili

Even during the hot summer months, we still enjoy our chili. We however, prefer our chili without beans, hence this one gets our thumbs up!

 

 

1-1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut in 1-inch pieces
Salt to taste
1 medium onion, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, minced
2 cans (14 oz each) chili seasoned diced tomatoes
2 tbsp oil, divided

 

In a skillet, heat one tablespoon of the oil over medium heat. Add meat and brown on all sides; remove to a platter and season with desire amount of salt. Add the remaining oil to the pan and saute the onion and jalapeno until just softened. Add the beef back in the skillet along with the tomatoes and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 2 to 2-1/4 or until beef is tender. Grab some garlic bread and a brew and enjoy!
