Cranberry Catchup

This recipe comes from an old book from 1930, entitled “New Delineator Recipes” and it really has some odd recipes!


2 -1/2 lbs cranberries
2-2/3 cups sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 teas ground cloves


Wash and pick over the berries. Cover them with vinegar and cook until the burst. Force them through a sieve. Add the other ingredients, return to the stove and simmer until thick. Seal in clean, hot jars. This is said to be served with fowl or meat as a relish! Sounds very different…….
