Crock Pot Flank Steak

This one is great for the working person or on a Sunday when you don’t feel like spending all day in the kitchen!


2 lbs flank steak
2 tbsp oil
3 cups sliced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
3/4 cup ketchup
1 teas salt
1/4 teas white pepper
1/8 teas thyme



Make slashes over the surface of the steak. In a large skillet, heat the oil and brown the steaks on both sides; remove from pan and place in the crock pot. Add the remaining ingredients to the oil, scraping the pan to gather all the juices. Scrape skillet ingredients over the steak, cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until steak is tender. Juices may be thickened with a little flour mixed in water to make a paste. Enjoy with some mashed potatoes and carrots……….
