Homemade Corn Dogs

This is another favorite of my husbands!


3/4 cup self-rising flour
1/4 cup self-rising corn meal
1 tbsp sugar
1 teas dry mustard
2 tbsp dry onion soup mix
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 lb hot dogs
wooden sticks


Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large shallow container, add the egg and milk and mix well. Place wooden sticks in the dogs, dust with flour and dip in batter, only a couple at a time. Fry 2-3 at a time for about 3 minutes, rolling during the cooking time unless you are using a deep fryer, fry until golden brown. Grab the mustard and go at it!
