Hamburger Soup

This has got to be one of Kenny’s favorite soups and he even wants it when it’s a 100 degrees outside. Sick husband!!!


1 lb ground beef
4 cups diced potatoes
1 onion, chopped
3 cans (8 oz each) tomato sauce
4 cups water
2 teas salt
1 1/2 teas pepper
1/2 – 1 teas hot sauce


Brown beef in a skillet over medium heat, drain. In a Dutch oven combine all ingredients, bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for about an hour or until potatoes are tender. This is another recipe we enjoy with garlic bread and a nice cold one!!!!

    Ken used to like chunky sirloin too, but then after I started making this recipe, forget the canned stuff!
    I really do have to try those onion rings………Regina

  2. This reminds me of one of my all-time favorite soups growing up – Chunky Sirloin Burger. Loved it!
