Chinese Flank Steak

Ah-so good!

1 lb flank steak, cut into thin strips
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup sherry
1 teas sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 pkg (6 oz) snow pea pods
¼ lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
¼ cup chopped scallions
1/3 cup thinly sliced water chestnuts


Mix soy sauce, sherry, sugar and cornstarch; add steak and marinade for 30 minutes at room temperature or overnight in the frig. Heat skillet with 1 ½ tablespoons of oil until very hot. Add pea pods and stir quickly until lightly browned and crisp tender; remove from pan. Add another tablespoon of oil to the pan and brown mushrooms; remove from skillet. Add remaining oil and add scallions, meat and all of the marinade. Stir rapidly until all of the steak is browned; add all ingredients with the water chestnuts and heat thoroughly. Serve over rice or noodles and enjoy!!!!
