My hubby and I love to fix a nice big platter of fresh fruit to munch on and always compliment it with homemade pound cake! What a way to go………

1 ½ cup butter, softened
1 pkg (8oz) cream cheese, softened
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon extract
3 cups flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt

In a large bowl cream the butter, cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Adding the eggs one at a time, beat well after each addition, beat in the extracts. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt and beat into the cream mixture until blended. Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch fluted tube pan; bake at 325 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes and remove to a wire rack to finish cooling. Try that fresh fruit and this cake on a hot summer day!
