Fresh Pink Lemonade
The hot weather is upon us, and who can resist a nice cold glass of lemonade to cool us off and quench our thirst! It’s also that time of year for the kids to start up their lemonade stands, that is if they don’t need a stupid permit where you live! I swear they’re taking all the fun out of being a kid and learning how to make money for the candy store, oops, we don’t really have candy stores any more!
- 4 cups water, divided
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 lemon peel strips
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tbls grape juice, for coloring
In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water, the sugar and lemon peel to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and discard the lemon peel. In a large pitcher combine all the ingredients and refrigerate to get cold. Serve over ice with an extra slice of lemon and sit back and cool off!!
